For those who are looking at this product in hopes to buy it to play for all iPod formats, please DISREGARD ANYTHING THAT SAYS "SHUFFLE" for it does NOT play any format (versions 1, 2, or 3) of the iPod Shuffle. What this company had failed to mention is that this plays "the iPod and Shuffle (via separate mp3 player cord without dock insert but includes dock inserts for literally every other form of iPod that we haven't mentioned in the above sentence, except the Shuffle of course)." So if you're buying this to play all forms of your iPod collection and thought that the fact that the Shuffle was mentioned in the very TITLE and FIRST SENTENCE of the product description, please ignore it and save your money! Don't buy this FM radio and iPod and Shuffle-LESS product! It's a shame that you must enter a rating, for I was quite pleased with leaving it at 0.

iLive IC618B Clock Radio with Enhanced Sound and Docking Station for iPod (Black) Review

Overall this is a good clock and the speakers are very clear. My iPod Touch fit just fine and it was always charged afterwards.
But even with these good things, I must warn people about this items main purpose: this is a poor alarm. The controls are a little confusing but I still managed just fine to set the alarm. My biggest complaint is in the alarm's volume; the alarm starts out soft but it quickly gets louder and louder until it is at an almost deafening volume. This will be good for people who have to get up but I am planning on using this item in college in my dorm but it is way too loud for the close quarters of a dorm room, especially when another person will be in the room.

I just want to warn people of this one thing so you don't have to return the clock like I am.

Jensen Universal Docking Station/Alarm Clock Digital Music System for iPod and MP3 Players(Silver) Review

Jensen Universal Docking Station/Alarm Clock Digital Music System for iPod and MP3 Players(Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I too received this from my employer. I was excited to get a new clock radio for my bedside... but am VERY disappointed every aspect of the product. You'll notice that I marked "ease of use" with 5 stars. Anything with 2 features (listen to music and set alarm) is going to be easy to use! If you want a place to charge your iPod/iPhone and/or listen to music, then I guess it would be OK, but do NOT put it bedside. The brightness of the display cannot be adjusted and that dang thing is brighter than my reading lamp! As far as an alarm: I was hoping that I could set the radio alarm for one time, then the iPhone for a later time (making it a dual alarm)... wrong! When it is docked, the iPhone/Pod alarm disables and it defaults to clock radio. As far as the radio... VERY touchy tuning knob; it's not a "fixed" digital tuner like most other digital radios (it's very odd). And I don't know if it is a defect with device or not, but I can only hear Hispanic radio stations! Not just that, but it is the SAME Hispanic station! I will hear other stations trying to come through but this one Hispanic station seems to come through across the entire frequency spectrum. Now, I'm a HAM radio operator and I know a little about frequency propagation and transmit power: the station is not the source of the issue, the receiver is.
Anyway, I could go on and on, but I won't. In summary, If I found this radio in somebody's garbage at the curb and it was still it an unopened box, I would leave it and take the broken chair!

GenevaSound S HiFi Docking Station with FM and Alarm for iPod/iPhone (White) Review

GenevaSound S HiFi Docking Station with FM and Alarm for iPod/iPhone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Geneva Lab is known for setting an early high fidelity sound standard for iPod docking speaker systems, and their latest little tabletop device does not disappoint. It offers a surprisingly rich sound from such a small box, and it has a very simple and elegant design that balances nicely with the aesthetics of the iPods it is designed for -- I've got a couple of nanos and an iPod touch, and it works great with all of them. It's about 5 inches tall, nearly double that wide and 7 inches deep, and comes in white, black or red.Just the size for a desk or a dresser -- it would fit nicely and look good in an office or a bedroom or kitchen.I've got the white one and I like the way it looks on my dresser. It's almost an insult to call it a "dock" -- it is much more elegant than almost anything on the market, and unlike most of the docks available at the big chains it has a solid heft to it (it's about 7 pounds), clearly designed with quality in mind. What I like even more is the way that it fills the room with sound -- I've had a couple of iPod docks before and neither nearly as nice as this one, and none came close to the range and depth of sound as this one delivers easily.Admittedly, neither cost this much either, but with GenevaSound you're paying for what seems to me a nice balance of form and function. The reason to buy an iPod (over cheaper mp3 players) is that you value simplicity, elegance, and great sound -- and if you value those things, the Geneva S delivers, and while it's not inexpensive it's not cheap either.

Speaking of functions, it's not just an iPod dock.Like any dock it can play from and charge your iPod.But it's also an FM radio with a digital tuner; plus it doubles as an alarm clock that you can set to wake you up to your favorite song on the iPod; there's also a stereo mini plug for auxiliary input. One minor oddity -- owing probably to the fact that these things were designed in Switzerland -- is that the clock won't do standard 12 hour time - it's set to 24 hour military and can't be changed.Another minor annoyance is that it comes with just a single adapter, for iPhones, and while the dock will take most standard adapters for various iPod sizes, it's a bit of a pain to seat them and to remove them once you've seated them. The manual says just to click them in gently, but I find that when I tried to seat my adapter the mount kept trying to flip over, and it took a bit of doing to get it to click in there.Still that's a fairly minor thing, since once you have it in you're not likely to need to bother again.Since I've got a few different kinds of iPods I decided just to take off my adapter and mount things directly without them. That means there's a bit more wiggle room for the iPod, but since most iPod functions can be controlled from the remote or on the system panel, there's no need to touch it once it's mounted. The dock itself swivels closed when not in use but swivels open when you hit the mode button. The system as a whole can be set directly on a flat surface, on its four little rubber pads, or can be attached to an included silvery stand that elevates it about 3 more inches.

There's a metallic grating that covers the dual speaker system in the box, and a red LCD display shows through the grating on the upper right hand of the box.The display shows the time, or the radio station, whether the alarm is set or not; it indicates the volume when you change it - on a scale from 1 to 100 - and indicates treble and bass values - that range from -6.0 to +6.0; it also indicates which function you've switched to when you change, say, from the radio to the iPod as source for your sound. The coolest feature, though, is the touch sensitive controls on the top of the box. When you touch the region in the upper right hand corner of the top, it lights up to look just like an older generation iPod, complete with back and forward and menu buttons, a power button, and a scroll wheel for volume. These buttons actually control the iPod itself when you have it docked. All of these functions and more (e.g. bass and treble control, programmable radio stations) can be controlled through the remote, but since I tend to misplace my remotes I find it comforting that most of what you need to do with this dock can be done with buttons on the unit itself - one of my pet peeves is dvd players and other devices that can't be properly controlled from the player itself without the remote, but in this case most everything can be done from the touch controls on the device.

But what about the sound? Obviously this is the most important feature, and the GenevaSound S performs well here -- I was kind of hoping for a more expansive, deeper, sound but it is better than anything of this size that I've tried. The basic design of the Geneva speakers is built around what they call "Embracing Sound" - which means, basically that there is a closely spaced set of dual speakers, and that manages to fill the room with a stereo sound. In this case there are two 3" full range woofers, each with a capacity of 15 watts.I was surprised to notice that there is a genuine left to right depth to the sound, and I didn't expect that out of such a small system. The levels are quite good, too -- at least in a small room, and especially if you're not the kind to "blow it out."You're not going to be able to run a house party with this little box - and I find that the sound it delivers is at its highest quality when you have the volume up to about 60 on a scale of 1 to 100. Much higher than that and I began to detect minor imperfections, and an occasional rattle. At 100 it is extremely loud, but for most types of music I've listened to the speakers seem to show their limits at that level. After a few tests, I decided to keep it more in its medium range.Still, for my bedroom and my office, which is where I've mostly had a chance to try this out, it delivers more than enough sound. At 60 it is quite loud enough in my room and I wouldn't dream of going louder than about 40 in my office. Even in my living room, the medium level is more than adequate for ambient music.

About the video: I created a little stop motion animation of the process of opening the box, to show what it comes with and how it's packaged, and after that I have a brief video demonstration of a few of its major features. Most of my review is here, and the video is intended as just a quick illustration.Obviously, there's no way to give any real sense for the sound of this device in a video review since it would only sound as good as YOUR speakers.

To sum up: the GenevaSound S looks great, and sounds good for such a small system; highly recommended for those who want a compact and elegant sound solution for a small to medium-sized room, and especially for those who subscribe to William Morris's principle that you should "have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."If you need it really loud and immersive, though, with soul shaking bass and immersive sound, you should probably look elsewhere (or get a bigger one, like the GenevaSound L).

Product Description:
From the Swiss firm that first introduced luxury audio fidelity for iPod systems comes the new GenevaSound S - bringing great sound, style and simplicity to the bedroom, kitchen, office and more. GenevaSound S sounds better and does more than any single-function iPod dock on the market, some of which cost 30% to almost 100% more. With more features than single-function docks, GenevaSound S includes the new PowerDock connector, new TouchLight controls, and a digital radio tuner with alarm clock. TouchLight controls are invisible until a hand reaches for the cabinet. Not just eye-catching, it offers extensive control of the iPod menu. (Competitors have limited iPod controls.) When the iPod/iPhone is removed, the motorized PowerDock spins closed and the protruding iPod/iPhone 30-pin connector, a sensitive part, disappears into the cabinet, protecting it from damage and dust. GenevaSound S also comes with a table stand, allowing the user the choice of elevating the system, so it takes up less space on a nightstand, a counter or a desk. The digital radio and programmable alarm make it the best-sounding, simplest iPod clock radio ever, a product segment littered with low-fi sound and eyesore design. It's the first with solid stereo sound and fine design lines.

I love this player. I enjoy my cd's on it. Most of all I enjoy listening to my iPod on it. The sound is excellent. The door mechanism is genius. I had bought the more expensive Panasonic cd/iPod player and had to return it because the door was defective and it wouldn't play the iPod.
I'm really happy with this Jensen player.

Philips AJ300D Clock Radio with iPod/GoGear Dock Review

Philips AJ300D Clock Radio with iPod/GoGear Dock

Once you get past the fact that Amazon has really misrepresented this item, I can say that it really is a what I needed. Yes, as mentioned by another reviewer, there is NO CD player funtion at all. It would have been fantastic if Philips had designed it with one in mind, but I think it would have killed it's compact size which is why I bought it.There are only 5 presets (not 20 as per Amazon's description and the unit only plays FM, no AM). This is mentioned in the "Technical Details" of the description page, if you click on it. The detail that there is no CD funtion is there, too - very contradictory.
I love the fact that it's small (I can move it from room to room). There are three wake-up modes (FM radio, gentle wake buzzer, and iPod dock). But, the best item would have to be the wOOx technology for powerful bass, on the back of the unit. That sold me on this "Play and Charge" unit, and I love that feature the most. The sound is excellent for the price. You can still connect a portable CD player, VCR or even an iPod Shuffle, through the AUX port and cord supplied. So, it's not a one trick pony.
The clock function is good, with 3 brightness settings (Bright, Low and OFF), and both Sleep and Snooze funtions on the alarm.I found it simple to set the clock and alarm(s).No battery back-up is a negative.Even a simple 9V would be enough to keep presets and radio function if the power went out.
Overall: I like it, I really do.

Chestnut Hill Sound George Audio Speaker System for iPod (White) Review

Chestnut Hill Sound George Audio Speaker System for iPod
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
GEORGE does things very differently from most iPod products. The beauty of the iPod is it's interface, and Chestnut Hill has spent a great deal of time thinking about how users interface with GEORGE. What they've come up with is elegant and allows a significant feature set while remaining elegantly simple to use.

In a brilliant touch, the controls can be removed from the radio and placed in a charging stand. In this configuration everything functions as before, only wirelessly. You can put the radio a distance away -- with your iPod mounted on top -- and have complete control of both GEORGE and the iPod from your nightstand.

The sound quality also differentiates this product. It does not try to hide or gloss over the fact that it is a small box by using electronic tricks. Instead, it packs the cleanest, tightest, and truest sound I've yet heard from a box of this size. The bass is tight and musical, without the BOSE tendency towards flatulent exaggeration.Treble is good and articulate, without sounding harsh or edgy. And, considering it's size, GEORGE creates a decent stereo image as well.

Just for reference, I own a BOSE SoundDock, Apple HiFi, and have quite a bit of higher-end audio gear.GEORGE has proven to be one of the best-engineered iPod-related products I've ever owned.

Furthermore, the designers did not ignore the design of the built-in radio tuner.Connected to a Sangean Twin-Coil Ferrite AM Antenna, this thing pulls in each and every AM station that my top-of-the-line Sony Shortwave radio can.FM performance is also quite good and seems every bit as good as the tuner in our Tivoli Audio Model One.

Highly recommended, and we've just ordered a second unit for our guest room...

[UPDATE Jan. 20,2009]

Well, add "customer service, second to none" to my list of pros about the George.I recently began having issues with decreased battery life in the remote.I contacted the company at 10 p.m. PST, received a reply from Rob of Chestnut Hill Audio (within 10 minutes, via BlackBerry), and they promptly sent me a new battery for free. It's a pleasure to do business with a company who values its' customers and tries to take care of them!

Product Description:
Meet George, the first digital audio system to combine an iPod music playback system, fully-featured wireless remote, AM/FM radio and alarm system in one product. Designed to satisfy the discerning iPod user, George is a unique combination of power and functionality. Along with best in-class sound quality, George has a detachable front panel that functions as a remote control. Command your digital music library, AM/FM radio, alarms, or legacy devices, all from an intuitive and ergonomically crafted remote. The wait is over. See the George Video Presentation.

George's size was determined not only by the internal components but also by optimizing the acoustics. See the George Video Presentation.

George is designed for lots of expansion capabilities down the road.

Finally, a place to put your iPod that's up to the challenge.
A detachable front panel functions as a remote control. Command your digital music library, AM/FM radio, alarms, or legacy devices, all from an intuitive and ergonomically crafted device. View larger.

The George remote has an actual control that you turn, giving you fast, easy control of your library, volume, and other settings.

The display makes it easy for you to search the music on your iPod as well as show you the information for the song or radio station playing.

George uses coaxial 2-way speakers that outperform highly equalized single cone speaker designs, resulting in greater detail and accuracy. Remote
Compact discs were invented in the early 80s, credit card-sized remotes followed shortly thereafter. These remotes were great for controlling CDs 20 years ago, but using Reagan-era innovation to control your iPod seems like a marriage of technology and nostalgia at best. George's remote--which measures 3.75 x 4.4 x 2.6 inches--is completely purpose driven, to give you what a remote should, complete control.
You'll never confuse the volume control with the play button, even in the dark. That's because George has an actual control that you turn and not just a little bump in an array of bumps. Navigation has never been easier with jump buttons. Hyper-search huge libraries with a few clicks, no more 'press and hold' til' you get there. In fact, all of the critical controls on George are distinct in feel and location and optimized for ergonomics as well as function. Spend a few minutes with it and you'll feel as if you've had it for years. That's intuitive. That's George.
The iPod has a great display in the palm of your hand. However, when you are across the room relaxing, that display is little more than a nightlight. That's why the George remote uses a high-resolution, backlit graphic display. Now you can see where 103.3 FM is stored without having to cycle through every preset button. The display makes it easy for you to search the music on your iPod as well as show you the information for the song playing, from anywhere in the room. Want to know how many songs are left on this album? Just look.
If you know how to use an iPod, you know how to use George. The menu structure and controls were designed specifically to match your familiarity with using the iPod. George has even added the capability to search by letter using a method common to every cell phone. So when you pick up the George remote, you'll feel right at home.
Radio
George features "Bandless Tuning," eliminating the artificial barrier of AM and FM. Just spin the knob around a seamless circle of stations, no need for an extra button. This is not your father's radio. Using the high resolution screen on the remote, George not only shows you where you are but where you want to go. George knows you love to listen to the game as much as to Rock and Roll. That's why the AM was designed to be as great as the FM, and now you can access them democratically.
What's the use of having presets if you have to cycle through each one to find the station you're looking for? With four separate pages of presets, you can organize by interest and genre, be it sports, news, classic rock or hip/hop. No more guessing which preset is 94.5 FM, because each self-labeling preset is clearly indicated.
Sound
Voiced by audio professionals to more closely approximate the way music was originally recorded, George emulates the multi-amped 2.1 systems which are now used to make professional recordings. Most table top systems deliver audio through a single set of small-sized speakers, resulting in artificial high notes and muddy bass. George uses coaxial (2-way) speakers that outperform highly equalized single cone speaker designs, resulting in greater detail and accuracy. These stereo coax speakers are paired with a dedicated downfiring 4-inch sub-woofer that is optimized for low frequency reproduction without excessive EQ or resonant ducts. The 5 speaker system is then bi-amped to ensure your music sounds more like the way the artist intended.
Great sound doesn't come from full-range 1-inch and 2-inch speakers, nor does it come from small boxes. George's size (14.25 x 5 x 8.6 inches) was determined not only by the internal components but also by optimizing the acoustics. Giving the speakers room to breath is what gives George the 'big system' sound in a compact table top size.
Despite popular convention, a system of this size on your night stand not only looks bad but sounds bad too. Optimum position for listening is in front of the speakers, not next to them. The available Charging Stand for George's remote allowing you to place the speakers anywhere in the room that sounds the best while keeping full control of George at arms reach.
A System with a Future
George is smart and designed to get smarter. While other products fade with time, George improves and expands to fit your life. From changing its look to expanding its uses, George actually has a future.
Choose one of the optional wood panels and matching speaker grills to tailor George to your decor. Add the charging stand so that you can have full control of George in only a 4" footprint.
Update the software to take advantage of continuing enhancements. George is built to be the best music system today and it's also designed to continue to grow.

Juke Box: While George offers the best in tabletop sound, no tabletop playback device can match the "big systems" that may reside in your living or media room. Plug George's Preamp Out into your big system, and with the music collection in your iPod, you may just have the world's best juke box right in your home and at your fingertips via George's remote control.
Alarms: George has many different types of alarms, from nap and sleep timers to dual or one time alarms. Big day ahead? Pick the perfect song from your library to get you going in the morning, and don't worry about making sure that tune is queued up on your iPod when going to sleep. Just pick the song when you set the alarm and let George take care of the rest. Like headlines in the morning? Wake to any radio station. Heavy sleeper? You can set the wake up volume to be louder than whatever you are listening to for relaxation. And it's all easier to use than your conventional alarm clock.
Updates: Chestnut Hill Sound has enabled George with the ability to grow over time. A USB port on the back panel of George allows for software updates and upgrades. Hardware modules can be added as well.
Accessories: Choose from different wood shells and matching grill covers to suit George to fit your taste and room decor. With the included charging stand kit, the George makes an excellent the George makes an excellent hi-fi alarm clock for your bedroom or office. The stand charges the remote, and creates the smallest, most feature packed alarm clock your nightstand will ever see. The kit even includes a grille cover to replace the remote to maintain George's clean appearance. The flexibility provided by the charging stand allows you to place the speakers for optimum acoustics without sacrificing any control of George's features.

I ordered this unit from Amazon, received it, plugged it in and immediately decided to return it. The sound is mono, bass-less, and of painful quality. As if that weren't enough (it is, actually), the design is so poor that one has to lift the unit up and look real close to determine which frequency it is tuned to. The display does not light up and one literally needs a magnifying glass to see it! I am ordering a more promising, only slightly more expensive substitute.

Price paid:$180

I like this radio a lot.I am slightly--only slightly--disappointed that the sound is not more impressive. The sound is very good, but not as jaw-dropping as the Bose Wave or other tabletops I've heard.I have trouble finding the right bass/treble setting. But for this price I'm happy with the sound.

The 820HD looks great. It's very modern looking and is not over-buttoned.There are a lot of useful, easy to use functions. You can display the time, radio info or graphic EQ.There are separate bass, treble, and "loudness" controls to suit your taste, but I do have trouble finding the right balance.I use this in my office so I haven't used the alarms or sleep timer.

I haven't had too much trouble tuning in stations, but I'm right in the city so I expect that. The sound quality of HD Radio does vary from station to station--some stations sound thin. This is not a reflection of the radio itself. The HD2 programming is great because it's commercial free (for now).

Overall, I'm happy with this good looking radio.HD Radio is fun and the 820HD also sounds great with my iPod.For the money, it's great.

Product Description:
Did you know there are more than 800 million radio receivers in service in America today? Virtually all these radios operate using analog broadcast/reception technology that dates back to the 1960s. Today, thousands of radio stations are upgrading their broadcast technology; hundreds are currently broadcasting with digital HD Radio technology. New HD Radio technology enables AM and FM radio stations to broadcast their programs digitally for superior FM and AM sound. Not to be confused with subscription-based radio, the Cambridge Soundworks 820HD can receive both AM/FM analog and digital radio stations that are free of charge. What HD digital radio provides is FM stations now with CD-quality sound, AM stations now with FM-quality sound - all with crystal-clear reception with virtually no audio distortion. Another benefit of digital radio is the radio station's ability to transmit additional information along with the music signal. Simultaneously, one station can offer several audio channels as well as on-screen data. You can see the song title and performer. News channels might offer financial and traffic updates viewable on your radio display. In a sense HD does to radio what HD does to TV. It makes it better to use and enjoy. Since HD Radio is a free broadcast, all you have to do is get a new HD Radio and the Cambridge Soundworks Radio 820HD is the best HD table radio available. Singing Machine ISM-370 Multi-Function Karaoke System with iPod Docking Review

Singing Machine ISM-370 Multi-Function Karaoke System with iPod Docking
Average Reviews:

I purchased this Karaoke machine specifically because of the iPod docking feature.Once I received it, I found out it is only compatible with iPod Nano 2nd Generation, not the newer iPod Nano (which I will be receiving soon.)Also, the included microphone volume is so low, even when the volume is set the highest it will go, you can barely hear the vocalist over the music. We had to purchase our own better quality microphone to use with it. I would not purchase this again if I had the option.

Tech Talk

CDG: An acronym for Compact Disc plus Graphics, this is a regular CD with information stored on a data track simultaneous to music. In laymen's terms, CDG has a video output for simple graphics (not full motion video). In the case of karaoke, the graphics function is used to store song lyrics, and display the lyrics in synch with the music. In most cases, CDG software displays lyrics, which change color as they are to be sung. A regular television is all that is required to display CDG lyrics.
Echo: Produced by creating minor controlled feedback in the singer's voice, echo adds depth and resonance. The echo function does not affect the music.
Auto Voice Control (AVC): This useful function is used primarily during practice sessions while a singer is learning a song. Please note that the AVC function only works with multiplex recordings and not with standard audio recordings.
Multiplex: A Multiplex allows you to separate the vocals and music by using the balance control on your Singing Machine Karaoke System.

Nextplay Fashion iPod Docking Clock Radio - NP109CR Review

Nextplay Fashion iPod Docking Clock Radio - NP109CR
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this alarm clock for our daughter. We didn't get it on Amazon, but I was so put off by this product that I decided to leave a review here anyway. We originally thought it was really cool when we opened it because it came with tons of accessory "docks" to fit almost all types of iPods. It has a couple of major flaws though.

1. When the alarm goes off it starts at a low volume and then within 5 seconds it's blaring as loud as the volume can go. It does this in all modes (Radio, iPod, Buzzer). There is no way to change this and you can't effect it by adjusting the volume before the alarm goes off.

2. It has an Audio Out port on the back for attaching headphones, other equipment, etc. The only problem is, when you connect the headphones sound still comes out of the speakers too. To me, this is a major flaw.

I'll be trying to return this product to the store as soon as I can find the box. It took us a week or two to discover these flaws, so hopefully the store will take it back.

Cue Radio Model r1 Table Radio with iPhone/iPod Dock and Dual Alarms (White) Review

Cue Radio Model r1 Table Radio with iPhone/iPod Dock and Dual Alarms
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have owned my Cue Radio Model r1 Table Radio for seven months and absolutely love it!The sound quality of this unit is impeccable.I primarily use the radio at my office, but its compact size and portability have allowed me to take it with me on trips as well. The radio came along on my most recent ski trip and drew the rave reviews of my friends, who were amazed at how this small device filled a large room with rich, beautiful sound. In addition to listening to broadcast radio, I use the r1 to play my iPod and Sony MiniDisc player, and the radio functions smoothly and effortlessly under all formats. The sound that the r1 produces with my acoustic rock MD recordings, in particular, is nothing short of stunning. The radio's operation is intuitive, the AM/FM tuner is far stronger than the Sony boom box I formerly used in my office, and the display is easy to read.I have become addicted to glancing at the song and artist tags whenever I hear a new song.In short, the r1 is an outstanding table radio, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who appreciates amazing sound.Enjoy!

Audiovox CE609CR Thunder Clock Radio and Universal iPod and MP3 Player Docking Station Review

Audiovox CE609CR Thunder Clock Radio and Universal iPod and MP3 Player Docking Station
Average Reviews:

I just got off the phone with Audiovox customer service who say that this product has never been able to play anything more than an Ipod-- never had an RCA input jack, never hadUSB connection capability, and never had a memory card reader. If, as I did, you buy this product for any of its non-Ipod features, you will end up returning it. Someone from Amazon should read this and change the description!

iHome iH8 Clock Radio for iPod (White) Review

iHome iH8 Clock Radio for iPod
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this alarm clock because I like to listen to music while I am upstairs (just bedrooms) and I don't want to have a separate stereo in already tight quarters. The design looks simple, much better than my old alarm clock. After a brief glance at the instructions, we had it up and running. We used it with both my old 20gb click wheel iPod and my daughter's newer 40gb iPod video. Both worked great. Here is what we think:

Pros:

-Dual Alarm
-Battery Backup (comes with batteries)
-Sets the time itself
-Looks nice, clean design
-Charges my iPod so it is always ready
-8 FM 4 AM preset stations
-Remote with battery included
-Adjustable brightness
-Sound quality is nice for a product like this
-Slide a switch for Daylight Savings!

Cons:

-You have to wake to iPod (or buzzer if no iPod is docked) for first alarm, radio for second alarm
-Control by remote has a little lag time
-iPod cannot be in a case or skin to be docked...I wanted to get this for my daughter, but I know she will not pull hers out of the skin to dock it every day and I told her she has to use the case to protect the video screen.(My iPod skin is older and the bottom folds out of the way so mine works.)
-When you turn on the iPod, you can only play what is already selected...a playlist, CD, or just all your songs...you can't pick and choose, but you can skip forward or back in order.

Overall I like this clock a lot and would recomend it as a way to have music when you want it in a bedroom!
