Sony ICF-CD73V Shower CD Player/Clock Radio (White) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Pros: Reception, Features, all digital, looks, build like a tank.
Cons: Price.
I picked this up to replace a piece of junk Curtis shower radio I bought my wife from Best Buy. She was so dissapointed in the Curtis because no stations would come in on its analog tuner.
The Sony was everything the cheaper Curtis wasn't. It is fully digital including the tuner. It has an external antenna and the reception is great. It sounds great for a littler radio with a even a bit of bass. The auto off feature will let you turn this thing on first thing in the morning and not worry about draining the batteries by leaving it on all day. Aditionally, it comes with a rope strap that will let you hang it from about anything. It is a bit on the heavy side because it is built solid as a rock.
The final word is I am super pleased with this little radio. My only gripe is the price: ... ouch. But if you believe that you get what you pay for...

Coby CDSH287 AM/FM Alarm Clock Shower Radio with Stereo CD Player Review

(More customer reviews)I wouldn't waste your money on buying this.. mine broke after two weeks in a dry room tempature place. Meaning, it wasn't because I got water in it because its a "shower" radio.. I never tested that out but if I did it would of probably broke even sooner. I'm very disappointed :(

Sony ICF-CD73W AM/FM/Weather Shower CD Clock Radio - White Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this radio mainly so my 2 year old and I can listen to fun kid music while we take a bath. Sounds great and can be turned down quite low...nice in an echoey bathroom. I only wish it weren't quite so bulky and that you could change CDs without accessing the back of the unit. If it's hanging up on the shower arm against the tile wall you basically have to take it down to change discs. Minor indeed buy annoying nonetheless. Given the choices out there I'd definitely buy this again.

Sony ICFS79W AM/FM/Weather Band Digital Tuner Shower Radio (White) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I very rarely write reviews but I love this radio so much I felt inspired.(Actually I own the S79V, but it seems to be identical to this one.)It is simply the perfect shower radio.Reception is excellent and better than some of the more expensive radios in my house. It has a clever suction cup aerial that sticks to shower tile well. The controls are simple and I particularly like the timer function, so I don't need to worry about turning it off.It goes forever on a set of batteries.I also like that this isn't equipped with a CD player, which would add bulk for a questionable extra function.

The white plastic has yellowed over time (four years?), and the top control panel membrane has deteriorated slightly, but it's still going strong.I purchased a replacement just to have a spare handy should I need one and find that Sony has stopped making these gems.
