I picked this up to replace a piece of junk Curtis shower radio I bought my wife from Best Buy. She was so dissapointed in the Curtis because no stations would come in on its analog tuner.
The Sony was everything the cheaper Curtis wasn't. It is fully digital including the tuner. It has an external antenna and the reception is great. It sounds great for a littler radio with a even a bit of bass. The auto off feature will let you turn this thing on first thing in the morning and not worry about draining the batteries by leaving it on all day. Aditionally, it comes with a rope strap that will let you hang it from about anything. It is a bit on the heavy side because it is built solid as a rock.
The final word is I am super pleased with this little radio. My only gripe is the price: ... ouch. But if you believe that you get what you pay for...

(More customer reviews)Ok, my daughter wanted an alarm clock for Christmas. But in the last seconds before meeting Santa she throws in "I want a Hannah Montana alarm clock!!!". I thought to myself "How hard can that be to find?"... But, Oh My Heck... when the ONLY one I can find is listed around $50 - $60?!! Of course I HAD to buy it (no matter what the cost), but couldn't it have something on it that shows that it is a Hannah Montana product? So, what that it is in the shape of a studio light? There is NOTHING Hannah Montana about this alarm clock! Not a picture, not a recorded "wake up song" alarm, NOTHING! I guess, because her picture was on the box (which is long been recycled) and that it is purple. Whatever!! If I am to pay $50+ the darn thing better be OBVIOUS that it is a Hannah Montana product.

Note: It works well. My daughter doesn't have an Ipod, but is completly content with the radio mode, and especially likes the "sleep" mode for night time. The item is plastic, plastic, plastic. But it has been almost a month and no damages to speak of yet.

(More customer reviews)I bought this radio mainly so my 2 year old and I can listen to fun kid music while we take a bath. Sounds great and can be turned down quite low...nice in an echoey bathroom. I only wish it weren't quite so bulky and that you could change CDs without accessing the back of the unit. If it's hanging up on the shower arm against the tile wall you basically have to take it down to change discs. Minor indeed buy annoying nonetheless. Given the choices out there I'd definitely buy this again.

(More customer reviews)I very rarely write reviews but I love this radio so much I felt inspired.(Actually I own the S79V, but it seems to be identical to this one.)It is simply the perfect shower radio.Reception is excellent and better than some of the more expensive radios in my house.It has a clever suction cup aerial that sticks to shower tile well.The controls are simple and I particularly like the timer function, so I don't need to worry about turning it off.It goes forever on a set of batteries.I also like that this isn't equipped with a CD player, which would add bulk for a questionable extra function.

The white plastic has yellowed over time (four years?), and the top control panel membrane has deteriorated slightly, but it's still going strong.I purchased a replacement just to have a spare handy should I need one and find that Sony has stopped making these gems.
