Indiglo® Travel Alarm Clock with Large LCD and Stylish Horizontal Design Review

My wife and I both had the previous model Timex Indiglo travel alarm clock for years, and loved it.After much hard use, they eventually died, and we immediately started looking for the same model.Apparently, Timex decided to "improve" the original with this model. We bought two, and regretted it immediately.Granted, this is a lot more elegant in aesthetic, and never accidentally flops over on itself as the old model did.But it just doesn't work reliably. The beeping is unreliable--sometimes loud as expected, and sometimes a faint buzz that sounds like a blown speaker. The selector slider gets stuck and is hard to move, and then doesn't click reliably into place at the points you are trying to select. So we are ditching this model.I've heard Timex has rereleased the original model, so I'm looking for it.Whatever you do, don't buy this one.

I have dropped this thing on the floor, stepped on it, spilled water all over it. I lost the back and the batteries were held in by masking tape and it still worked. Simple, but effective.

This appears to be a very cheaply made clock. The cover for the battery broke when first opened, and had to be taped on.The clock takes a "D" size battery, not AA as stated in the description. The optional full time light was good, as was the ascending alarm.Setting time was very easy.

Size, style, features, etc., all are fine EXCEPT I can't see it in the dark.It needs phosphorescent hands, which it does have.If I could see it, I'd give it 5-stars.

SharpTech SPC303 LCD Travel Alarm Clock with Folding Metal Case (Champagne) Review

SharpTech SPC303 LCD Travel Alarm Clock with Folding Metal Case

I bought this alarm clock today (April 7, 2007) at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $10.I wish I had seen the reviews first.I bought it because of the product name, small size and variety of options.Unfortunately, I realized it wasn't a great buy when I brought it home...and spent a few hours trying to keep the battery in a certain position so the clock would stay on.The connections appear to be very sensitive and the battery doesn't stay in place.
The clock light is pointless. It's supposed to help you see the time in the dark, but unless you have the clock at a certain angle everything will appear blurry.Actually, the screen is blurry in most positionseven with the light off.
As for the alarm, it's pretty quiet. If you're a sound sleeper or live in a noisy environment, this is not the clock for you. You'll only hear the alarm if you sleep with it under your ear.
A final note on this product: The clock has been on for almost an hour without any problems...but only with the battery cover slightly open.If I close the cover all the way, the clock shuts off.If you want an alarm clock that will last awhile, I suggest buying something else. You get less than you pay for with this model.

Timex Travel Alarm Clock Radio (T315S) (T315S) Review

Timex Travel Alarm Clock Radio

Great product. Indestructable clamshell close, lightweight, and small for travel, a new battery lasts for a year or two, loud alarm, big numbers and nighttime visibility, snooze seems to keep working no matter how many times you hit it, am and fm work fine. I've bought 6 of these in the past, given most of them away to guests who used them and really liked them, and logged on again today to buy a few more. I've bought dozens of different small travel alarm clocks over the past 30 years (which I also use for my main home alarm clock--I don't like switching when I travel), and this is by far the best ever. I'm buying more so that I don't ever run out--I worry they'll quit making it someday. Never have known any of them to miss an alarm, in spite of that other review to the contrary.

Elgin 3400E LCD Alarm Clock Review

Elgin 3400E LCD Alarm Clock

I purchased this clock as a replacement for an older Timex travel alarm clock that I lost. While this model functions on a basic level, it is disappointing overall.

As another reviewer mentioned, this clock gains time quickly. After just a couple of days it will be minutes ahead of the actual time. If you only use the clock for weekend trips this probably won't be much of an inconvenience, but for longer trips or regular use at home, this is a bit of a nuisance. I can honestly say that in my entire life I have never had any clock, watch, or other appliance so poor at keeping the correct time.

I have also been disappointed with the quality of the Indiglo backlight on this clock. On my last travel alarm, as well as my Indiglo watch, the Indiglo backlight is bright and makes the characters easy to read in the dark. However, on this clock the Indiglo backlight is feeble by comparison. It's just bright enough to qualify as usable, but if your eyesight isn't great the combination of the weak backlight and the fact that you probably aren't wearing contacts or glasses in the middle of the night may make this clock difficult for you to read.

As far as the user interface is concerned, the time display is very large, but other on-screen items, such as the "alarm on" indicator, are not necessarily obvious by a quick glance at the display. The Indiglo button, as you can see in the picture, is in the middle of the face of the unit. My last travel alarm placed this button on the top of the unit. If you can imagine trying to illuminate your clock in a pitch dark room, you can probably guess which location is more convenient. Fortunately, all the buttons you need to set the clock are easily located on the lower half of the face of the unit. For setting the time/alarm the clock has a pair of up/down buttons that move the time in one (if you press and release) or 15 (if you hold) minute increments. This is particularly useful for making small time adjustments backwards.

Overall I have been very disappointed with this clock. It lacks some of the ease-of-use features I'm used to, and it suffers from poor craftsmanship. It was relatively inexpensive and it hasn't technically broken, but if I could go back in time I would most certainly purchase a different travel alarm.

With its tiny size and clear, 1-inch LCD, Timex's 3400T portable digital clock is a perfect travel companion. The clock's cool Indiglo display is easy on your eyes when you check it in the dark. Enjoy 1-minute to 4-hour naps with the unit's handy nap timer, and select from either 12- or 24-hour clock settings. The clock runs on 2 AAA batteries (not included) and measures 2.5 x 4 x 2.125 inches (W x H x D).
