(More customer reviews)I thought this would be a great idea to help teach my kids how to read an analog clock. After receiving one unit, the digital portion of the clock worked great, but the analog hands kept hanging up. After the unit finished syncing up, the analog time wasn't even close to the digital time (which was correct). I was able to get the time between the analog and digital clocks to within 10 minutes of each other, but the next day I found the second hand hung up at about the '35' second position and just oscillating. I left it along for a number of days, since the unit is supposed to re-sync each night. After a few days the analog clock just permanently hung up.

Tried a second unit, and while it started off better, the hands on it would hang up as well. It seems the mechanical mechanism in these clocks is just junk. Maybe a batch problem that won't be present in other units, but I'll never know since I'm sure not going to try a third time.

The clock lens is glass, and the LCD portion seems to work well. Upon opening the box I was actually quite impressed. For those that feel inclined to own a decent looking clock, but aren't too particular about the time it shows, then this might be the deal for you. I would hope that the manufacturer corrects this issue, maybe purchases subsequent to my review will be okay.

The good news is that getting returns and refunds through Amazon couldn't be easier. These two have gone back, and in my opinion with less hassle than waiting in line at a brick-and-mortar store, particulary post-Christmas.
