(More customer reviews)at first i was very impressed with the iHome iH55SR. it boasted great sound, a nice remote, and simple controls in a sleek compact design. unfortunately, my delight turned to frustration shortly before bedtime when i realized the display was so bright it was as if a spotlight was shining into my bedroom. on the plus side the iH55SR does feature a dimmer which allows the owner to adjust the display's brightness. when on the medium setting the clock radio's display is a bit brighter than a child's night-light. however, unlike a night-light which is usually a warm color light (e.g. red, yellow, or orange) the clock's display is a cool blue which has a bigger impact in the dark. sadly, on the lightest setting the clock is barely readable, although this would not be an issue if the display would turn brighter when the alarm goes off. as it stands now i leave it on the medium setting when i go to bed, but i wish i would have just spent the extra $20 on the latest model.

Alarm Clock Radio
Wake to a song on your iPod, the radio (AM/FM), or a buzzer, and enjoy the gradual wake and sleep feature that gently increases or decreases volume until you decide what to do. The dimmer feature can be used to lower or raise the brightness of the LED display. The iH55SR also boasts a "sure alarm" feature so in the event of a power failure, the buzzer alarm will still sound (if backup batteries are installed).
iPod Dock
The universal iPod dock plays and charges all docking iPod models, and includes inserts for a sure fit. Use the full-function remote control to control to jump tracks, adjust volume, change stations, hit snooze, and more.
